Deer Park Country House
Wedding Coordinator (March 2022 - September 2024)
Sales is something I love and during my time at Deer Park I furthered this skill immensely. I maintained a 60% conversion rate, booking 70 weddings for the venue within my first two years. During the planning process I could also gently encourage upsells, enabling me to achieve personal bonus targets of 1% weekly and 2% bonuses once a month during high season. (Venue spend of £17K+ would earn a 1% bonus of annual salary, venue spend of £21K+ would earn a 2% bonus of annual salary. Couples would often start with a £10K package).
Planning and coordination was also an integral part of my role, seeing the couple through from initial viewing, all the way to the wedding day. This involved regular meetings to build the couples planning document and to ensure all details (dietaries, room allocations, supplier information etc.) were returned in good time.
I became well versed in heading up operational meetings and communicating across departments, including housekeeping, kitchen, gardening, and front of house. Operational meetings would take place each week and would cover the two following weeks, giving me the opportunity to cross check all event specifics with the team and making sure any discrepancies or outstanding details were smoothed out in advance.
I would coordinate external suppliers (photographers, florists, stylists etc.), whilst also making myself readily available for the couple at any time during the lead up to, and on the wedding day. Finally, I would run the wedding day itself, being the main point of contact between the couple, family, friends and the venue.
A fast paced environment became second nature, requiring me to not only run events, but to continue managing new enquiries, planning, questions, meetings and viewings simultaneously.
